10 things you might not know about SCREAM

So I'm working on an English Language coursework-article piece at the moment on "Scream" while I was doing some research on it I came across some interesting facts...so here you are! 

Skeen Ulrich, Jamie Kennedy and Matthew Lillard

1. In the scene where Matthew Lillard (Stu) is on the phone to Sid he says "My Mom and Dad are gonna be so mad at me" this was actually a joke and left in the film 

2. The use of caller ID increased more than three times after the release of the film 

3. Rose McGowan (Tatum) dyed her hair blonde so it would contrast from Neve Campbells' (Sid) 

4. All the killers phone calls were done by Roger Jackson on set with a mobile- The police called thinking the calls were real 

5. Tatum says that the situation is like a Wes Carpenter film - this is a reference to Wes Craven and John Carpenter (Who directed "Halloween") 

6. When the phone slips out of Billy's hand and hits Stu it was an accident and left in because Wes Craven liked the realistic reaction 

7. Ghostface's  black robe was originally going to be white (To make him appear more ghost like) but was changed in fear people would compare him to the KKK 

8. Was Craven plays Fred the Janitor who wears a hat and striped jumper, this is a reference to Freddy Krueger - the villain in "A Nightmare On Elm Street"

9. The film was originally called "Scary Movie" this is now used for the parody film series 

10. In the scene where Randy is watching "Halloween" and says "Jamie turn around. Turn around Jamie" as the killer is behind him is kind of an inside joke as the actor who plays Randy is called Jamie (Kennedy)
